Virgin Trains welcomes postponement of West Coast Main Line engineering works

Virgin Trains has welcomed Network Rail’s decision to defer planned engineering works at Watford due to take place later this month. The work, which was due to take place over the weekends of 14th/15th and 21st/22nd February, would have blocked the West Coast Main Line from Euston at Watford, resulting in a suspension of all Virgin Trains services on these days.

London Midland will run trains to help with landslide aftermath

London Midland will now be running trains on the main line from London Euston over the weekends of February 14 to16 and 21 to 23. Engineering works for the Watford area would have meant that both lines between London and the West Midlands would have been blocked following a landslide south of Leamington Spa last Saturday (January 31st).The engineering work at Watford has been called off.
